Managing folders to be monitored

< Back | Help index | Next > The Folder Size Monitor Properties window allows adding, editing, and deleting folders to be monitored and setting actions to be performed when the folder exceeds the allowed size. To add folder to be monitored: Click on the "Add..." button at the bottom of the Properties window. Tip: You can also grab the folder to be monitored with the mouse in the Explorer window and drop it to the Folder Size Monitor Properties window. This will also open the Folder Properties dialog, but the Folder field in it will be filled automatically.   In the Folder Properties window that appears, click on the Browse... button by the Folder and then select the folder to be added in the window that appears. Tip: You can also drag & drop the folder to be monitored from Explorer to the Folder Properties window.   In the Folder size limits group: Select the Minimum checkbox and then enter the minimum size limit for the selected folder. Click on the drop-down list next to the value box and select the measure unit. [optional] Click on the Custom text field and enter the text you want to appear when the folder size reaches the specified limit. Select the Maximum checkbox and then enter the maximum size limit for the selected folder. Click on the drop-down list next to the value box and select the measure unit. [optional] Click on the Custom text field and enter the text you want to appear in the alert message or log file when the folder size reaches the specified limit.   Click on the "Add..." button at the bottom of the Folder Properties window and then select the action to be performed on the list that appears.   Click "OK" to finish adding new folder. Notes: If a folder being monitored is deleted from disk (e.g., by accident) and then restored, Folder Size Monitor will no longer monitor it. To continue monitoring the restored folder, open the Properties window and then click Apply or restart the program.   At least one size limit must be defined.   At least one action must be defined. < Back | Help index | Next >
